In the mood of a Northern Lights Chasseur XXVIII

REPORT 05.03.2020
First drive up to the border of Finland, hoping to get the clouds moving away. When we arrived after 2h30 drive, it was cloudy, with only cracks and looking at the movement of the clouds in the sky, we didn’t feel it would improve… So we drive back to Norway, heading deep south ouest, where another guy reported seeing stars. On the road, at 22h00, we found a surprise huge gap !!! The sky was 90% clear with stars. The travelers couldn’t believe their eye (eheheh). We established our camp there and stayed there up to 23h45.
Sadly, absolutely no Northern Lights activity at all………
We left at midnight, as the clouds were covering the sky again. I was keeping an eye on the sky on the way back, hoping to see something, but there was only clouds, snow storm… and looking at the Northern Light forecast, no Northern Lights at all anyway…
The group were very nice, chill vibe and comprehensive – they understood that we made our best and it was a question of Mother Nature to provide us or not Northern Lights.
